‘Typeface becomes impossible to tell if they are easy to read because they are commonly used, or if they are commonly used because they are easy to read.’
Zuzana Licko
‘Typography is the craft of endowing human language with a durable visual form.’
Robert Bringhurst
I created two distinct concepts for A1-sized posters using two typographic quotes.
The first poster aimed to communicate a clear message, employing only two typefaces in a black and white palette. It was designed to be easily understood and visually impactful. The intention was to prioritize effective communication through the composition of the poster. On the other hand, the second poster was designed to be expressive, containing multiple layers of meaning within the text. Similar to the first poster, it utilized a black and white color scheme. The primary objective was to convey the essence of the text through various visual elements and arrangements, resulting in a thought-provoking composition.

I focused on optimizing space utilization and crafting a well-designed type hierarchy that embraced simplicity. This involved exploring numerous iterations and variations across various designs to achieve the desired outcome.
The objective was to refine and enhance the overall composition by strategically arranging and prioritizing the elements of typography.
I recognized a shared quality between poster design, typography, and other three-dimensional design forms, which is that they all involve the art of shaping and designing spaces. Inspired by this connection, I made a deliberate choice to create an image of three-dimensional space using the words found within the quotes. By integrating typography into the design, I aimed to visually convey the concept of spatiality and add a unique dimension to the overall composition.
