Digital Canvas is a collaborative physical canvas, directed and created by Eunjoo Yang and Guo Yu. We share similar art backgrounds, having transitioned from fine art to graphic and media arts in our first year of university. The challenges we faced and the change in our creative process were not only about transforming paint mixing and brushstrokes into software toolbars, but also about incorporating our personal experiences and ways of seeing into our work. This canvas, which should have been covered with paint, is now adorned with computer-edited digital images. Is it a piece of art or a work of design?
